It’s a sure sign that the season is upon us when t-Lounge by Dilmah launches their Christmas Menu – and it’s definitely something that t-Lounge’s patrons in Colombo look forward to every year. This year, the Christmas Menu launch took place on Friday, 14th November 2025, at the recently-opened t-Lounge & Bar by Dilmah at The Shoppes at City of Dreams in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The outlet has a naturally elegant and refined disposition to it, and with the festive grazing table that had been set up near the entrance, it was quite a sparkling sight to behold.
The table was brimming with sweet and savoury seasonal specials that the t-Lounge team had thoughtfully spent months curating. The décor was stunning, with flowers of many kinds, in shades of red and magenta, adorning the table, and candles adding warmth to the space. What was most memorable to the guests, however, was the personalised welcome drink that each one was greeted with – a mildly citrusy Dilmah Rose, Marzipan & Mint-infused concoction topped with a layer of froth onto which the guest’s name had been dusted with edible powder. While this was a tea-inspired novelty created especially for the launch event, it certainly left a memorable impression on everyone in attendance.
A few weeks ago, t-Lounge’s socials teased the Christmas menu with a slogan that read, ‘Santa Claus Is Going to Town’, and, seeing the spread at the launch, it was apparent that they meant this in a very literal sense! Among the scrumptious savoury goodies, t-Lounge’s signature Wellington (chicken/beef) took pride of place, with its popularity growing stronger by the year. Guests also got to enjoy mini versions of a whole lot of other items, including Brioche Buns with Curry Prawn, Cheese ‘n’ Leeks Bread, Hot Cross Buns stuffed with Marmite Chicken/Custard Cream, Mushroom Pastries, Honey-roasted Beef on Sourdough, Crispy Rice with Avocado and Tuna, Pulled Mutton Bao Buns, Fried Rice with Teriyaki Chicken, Feta Rolls, and the likes.
The sweet delights available for guests to indulge in included: Christmas Cake Balls, Christmas Cake Crème Brûlée, Black Forest-inspired Chocolate Cake, Date Cake, Napoleon Cake, Jelly Curd Cake, and an utterly refreshing Dilmah Lychee Tea-infused sorbet. The stand-out among the desserts, though, was probably the Love Cake Baked Alaska, which was quite something with its sensational love cake-flavoured ice cream layer.
t-Lounge’s seasonal Mulled Wine (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) was back in business, as was their iconic Snowman Marshmallow, to accompany their luscious Earl Grey Hot Chocolate. Must-tries!
All these items – and more – are available throughout the Christmas season on t-Lounge by Dilmah’s ‘Seasoned Greetings’ menu at their Colombo outlets: Horton Place, Chatham Street, One Galle Face Mall, and The Shoppes at City of Dreams.
