We are a family with a love for tea, and on a mission to make the world a better tea.
My father, Dilmah Founder, Merrill J. Fernando, was the first grower to offer tea grown, picked and perfected right here in Sri Lanka where we grow our tea, to tea drinkers around the world. In 1950, he devoted his life to tea and in 1985 he launched our Dilmah Tea with the assurance of great Taste, natural Goodness and ethical Purpose. He promised to share our profits with less fortunate People & for Nature. My brother Malik and I, together with my son Amrit, continue his mission with an uncompromising commitment to Quality and Kindness.
Our love for tea and our desire to serve humanity are what inspire and unite us as a family. We fulfill my father’s promise through the work of our MJF Foundation and Dilmah Conservation. If you are visiting to learn more about tea or kindness, welcome to our global Dilmah Family.
