We all know that mint goes very well with chocolate – particularly dark chocolate. We also know that mint goes well with tea. As always, Dilmah has done the exceptional deed of putting them all together in the form of Vivid Springtime Chocolate Mint, which infuses dark chocolate and mint with the elegant Nawalapitiya Region Ceylon Pekoe tea.
With such an exotic combo, we thought it fitting to share three beverage recipes that you could try your hand at, using Dilmah Vivid Springtime Chocolate Mint tea.
RECIPE 1: The Duke of Chocolate Smoothie (tea-inspired smoothie)
We think this would be such a winner at kiddie parties. However, there’s nothing that should stop adults (who are kids at heart) from indulging, too!

What you need:
- 100ml Dilmah Vivid Springtime Chocolate Mint Tea, prepared by brewing 3g of loose leaf in 200ml hot water for 5 mins (see how to make a perfect brew here)
- 85g plain yoghurt
- 20g Nutella spread
- 5ml mint essence
- blender
- optional – grated dark/milk chocolate / fresh mint leaves for garnish
How to prepare:
- Strain the brewed tea and allow to cool.
- Blend the tea and remaining ingredients using the blender, for 2 mins.
- Pour into a glass, garnish as required and serve chilled.
RECIPE 2: Umpa Lumpa (tea inspired-mocktail)
This could easily add a touch of sparkle to an afternoon catch-up with friends. Equally easily convertible to a tea inspired-cocktail with a dash of white rum, we say!

What you need:
- 70ml Dilmah Vivid Springtime Chocolate Mint Tea, prepared by brewing 3g of loose leaf in 200ml hot water for 5 mins (see how to make a perfect brew here)
- 50ml vanilla syrup
- 30ml sparkling water / soda
- 10 fresh mint leaves
- 5 lime wedges
- dark chocolate bits for garnish (+ fresh tea leaves, if can be sourced)
- crushed ice
- muddler
How to prepare:
- Strain the brewed tea and allow to cool.
- Muddle fresh mint leaves and lime wedges with vanilla syrup in serving glass.
- Fill glass with crushed ice.
- Top up with brewed tea and sparkling water/soda.
- Garnish with chocolate bits (+ fresh tea leaves, if available).
RECIPE 3: After 3 (tea-inspired mocktail)
With a look of sophistication, we think this would be great to sip on at a sit-down or cocktail evening gathering. Add a touch of brandy or port wine to spruce it up into a tea-inspired cocktail.

What you need:
- 90ml Dilmah Vivid Springtime Chocolate Mint Tea, prepared by brewing 3g of loose leaf in 200ml hot water for 5 mins (see how to make a perfect brew here)
- 15ml chocolate syrup
- 15ml mint syrup
- 15ml lime juice
- 100g melted white chocolate
- 50g chocolate crumble
- 3 fresh mint leaves
- 3-4 ice cubes
- 2 cocktail spoons
- shaker
How to prepare:
- Strain the brewed tea and allow to cool.
- Dip the rim of the glass in white chocolate, followed by chocolate crumble.
- Pour the lime juice into the bottom of the glass.
- Add the chocolate syrup using a cocktail spoon, followed by the mint syrup using the other cocktail spoon, forming layers in the glass.
- Pour the brewed tea and ice cubes into the shaker and shake until chilled well.
- Strain and pour into the glass.
